Contractors chase FEED for Petronas’ K5 project

RNZ-Petrofac, Ranhill Worley, Technip and Aker Engin­eering are among the contractors competing for the FEED work for phase one of Petronas’ K5 gas field off Malaysia. Initial facilities for the field will include a MOPU fitted with a cryogenic distillation unit, weighing an estimated 7,000 tonnes, and an FSO with a storage capacity of 30,000 barrels. The FEED work is expected to take about six months to comlete.

Three-cornered battle for Kasawari contract

Petronas will start FEED contest that will land the winner a large turnkey contract for its Kasawari natural gas development in Block SK 316 off Sarawak. Hyundai has teamed up with ­Ranhill Worley, against SapuraKencana-Saipem and MMHE-Technip consortia. The project is one of the biggest in Malaysia, involving more than 35,000 tonnes of offshore infrastructure. Produced gas from Kasawari field will feed the ninth LNG train under construction at Petronas’ large LNG complex in Bintulu.

Hess launches tender for North Malay basin platforms

Hess has issued a tender for three wellhead platforms under the first phase of the North Malay basin gas development off Peninsular Malaysia. Four bid consortia including MMHE-Technip, THHE-McDermott, SapuraKencana-Petrofac and Brooke Dockyards with Ranhill WorleyParsons.
