Rosneft talks LNG supply with Pertamina

Rosneft and Indonesian Pertamina signed an MoU regarding a joint study of potential areas of cooperation between the two companies, particularly in hydrocarbons upstream in Russia and Indonesia. In addition, the parties agreed to review the possibilities of partnership in the area of oil and oil, oil products, petrochemicals, LPG and LNG supplies to Indonesia.

Seadrill, Rosneft in two-year deal extension with no commitment

In a recent extension of framework deal initially covering six rig contracts between Seadrill and Rosneft, it was mutually agreed “any party can terminate the agreement and/or any offshore drilling contracts at any time prior to 31 May, 2017 at no cost”.

Golar LNG teams up with Rosneft

Golar LNG and Rosneft have signed an MoU on jointly co-operating in FLNG and natural gas transportation. The duo will discuss the use of Golar’s FLNG facilities in Latin America and potentially other locations, and are also targeting signing of two FLNG tolling agreements for projects within Rosneft’s portfolio.

Russian players pool to build fabrication yards

Novatek, Gazprom, Sovcomflot, Rosneft, Gazprombank and OSK United Shipbuilding has signed MOU to invest $3.3bn for at least two fabrication yards in the far east. These facilities will produce LNG carriers, ice-class supply vessels, foundations and topsides for offshore drilling rigs and platforms.

Rosneft enters fray for Chevron Block B interest

Chevron has brought Rosneft to the negotiation for its operated interest in the Block B gas project off ­Vietnam. Rosneft has had a presence there since its 2013 acquisition of TNK-BP. The Vietnamese government is also keen for major Russian companies to be involved in its offshore upstream sector so as to provide a counterweight to ­China’s maritime boundary claims.

China in largest oil deal with Russia

Russia inked a sizable deal valued at $270 billion (based on latest crude price) with China to supply 365 million tonnes of oil in total over 25 years. China would make an up-front payment of US$65 billion. This will eventually bring China’s oil import from Russia to almost a tenth of its annual consumption.
